WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for the week of Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Sunday, October 9:
- A Glen Road caller reported a clown wearing a black and white mask and black and white clothing, just knocked on her bedroom window then ran way. Police checked the area and were unable to locate. Caller advised the officer of two other similar incidents that occurred to other locations in town. (12:30am)
- A Williams Avenue resident reported a large amount of water across the roadway. Police notified the Water Department. Police attempted to the contact of a homeowner on Williams Avenue, as there appeared to be a break on their yard. (3:13am)
- Police notified the DPW that someone attempted to steal the Regal Road street sign and it will need repair. (3:46am)
- A caller reported man in his 60’s to 70’s, possibly intoxicated, in front of As Good As It Gets. Police responded. Man will be getting a cab ride home. His vehicle will remain the parking lot and his keys brought back to the station. (6:30am)
- A Marion Street caller reported their mailbox was damaged overnight. Caller stated a vehicle with no hubcaps operated by kids is frequently seen in the area, yelling at residents as they drive around. (10:37am)
- A Fay Street caller reported she could smell fuel coming down her road. Fire Department responded and located a bobcat leaking gas or oil. Fire Department contacted owner. (12:20pm)
- Police notified DPW that a portapotty was knocked over at the Woburn Street School. (4:42pm)
- A caller reported a horse was being left outside in inclement weather on Chestnut Street. Police checked the horse, which appeared OK. Homeowners weren’t home. (7:46pm)
- Police issued summons to four individuals for breaking & entering from the depository in the St. Dorothy’s parking lot and larceny. The following were issued summons: Emmanuel Deandrade (18, Brockton), Gilena Freire-Deandrade (57, Brockton), Deolinda Andrade (33, Brockton), and Helder Andrade (22, Brockton).
- A caller reported the back right window of their gray 2016 Honda Civic was smashed in the Market Basket parking lot. (11:39pm)
Monday, October 10:
- Police received report from the Water Department that concrete was spilled in the roadway on Salem Street. Police contacted Benevento’s and advised them of the issue. (9:35am)
- Police received a 911 call from a home on Morgan Road. On call back, spoke with resident who stated a child was playing with the phone. (10:37am)
- Tammatha Jeanne O’Connor (45, Billerica) was arrested for OUI Liquor, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, and Marked Lanes Violation. O’Connor also had an outstanding warrant with the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Office in Pennsylvania. O’Connor was pulled over on the Richmond Street bridge. (10:39am)
- A caller reported a stolen pure while at Savers. Police located purse, but money was missing from the purse. (2:42pm)
- A caller reported a water main cover was sticking up in the roadway at Allgrove Lane and Woburn Street. Police confirmed and contacted DPW. (2:55pm)
- A Horseshoe Lane caller believed her car was stolen from her property. Police confirmed the car was recently repossessed. (3:47pm)
- Fire Department transported occupant of a motor vehicle crash on 93 North, near the Exit 38 ramp, to Lahey Clinic. State Police requested assistance from the Police Department as the multi-car accident blocked all 4 lanes. (3:54pm)
- Police escorted a suspicious acting woman off the Salvation Army parking lot. (6:35pm)
Tuesday, October 11:
- George W. Mason, Jr. (44, Malden) was arrested on warrants. (6:52am)
- The red light at the intersection of High Street and Midldesex Avenue was out. Police notified the Public Buildings Department. (9:01am)
- Police assisted a driver who locked themselves out of their Toyota Camry at the Wildwood Cemetery. (10:13am)
- An Oakdale Road caller reported his mailbox was damaged sometime overnight. (11:24am)
- A caller from Markham Metals on Jewel Drive reported they had received bad checks. (11:45am)
- The green light at the intersection of Deming Way and Burlington Avenue was out. Police notified the Public Buildings Department. (1:25pm)
- A 3rd party caller reported a hit and run on Main Street. Police were unable to get a description of the culprit. (1:30pm)
- Police responded to a verbal disturbance between a manager and employee at Red Heat Tavern. Employee refused to leave. Police sent employee on his way. (1:39pm)
- A Marjorie Road caller reported several items missing from her home. She believed her landlord may have entered her home without permission. (4:15pm)
- Animal Control Officer conducted numerous barn inspections throughout the day.
Wednesday, October 12:
- Police came upon a brown 2004 Honda Accord stopped in the middle of the road on Clark Street. Operator was an Uber drive that stopped to use his phone. Situation checked OK. (1:56am)
- Animal Control Officer responded to check on reports of a fox in the area of the West Intermediate School. DPW employees reported the fox was acting oddly. Fox was gone by the time the officer arrived. (1:52pm)
- A realtor called to report a woman was trespassing inside a home on Baker Street throwing items around. Woman was upset she could not located something. Police responded and sent the the woman on her way. Police advised the woman to take the matter up in court. (2:09pm)
- A caller reported a vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and struck a curb on Wildwood Street, before turning into the cemetery. Police had the driver’s vehicle towed and transported him back to his home. No further details. (4:53pm)
- A Hardin Street resident reported a GPS was stolen from their vehicle. (5:21pm)
- A tractor trailer broke down at Lowell Street and West Street. Police notified Coady’s Towing. (5:33pm)
- A gray 2014 Chevy Sonic and a red 2006 Toyota Corolla were involved in a minor crash in front of Rite Aid. Police issued a written warning for defective equipment (headlights) and failure to use care when stoping. (6:44pm)
- Police received a report that juveniles were jumping on the fence at Sherwin Williams on Main Street. (7:56pm)
- Police stopped a motorcycle for speeding and operating a motorcycle on a learner’s permit after sunset while on Ballardvale Street. Police had the motorcycle towed. (8:00pm)
- Police responded to a dispute between a passenger and Uber drive over payment. (8:12pm)
- A Lucaya Circle homeowner reported her front yard was vandalized with toilet paper by three car loads of teen boys. (9:36pm)
Thursday, October 13:
- Roxane L. Deniso (41, Tewksbury) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a licensed revoked for OUI and marked lanes violation. Deniso struck a food delivery truck near AJ’s Kitchen on Lowell Street. Food spilled onto the roadway. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (8:34am)
- Caller reported cement trucks and large trucks going over Butters Row bridge exceeding the weight limit. Caller requested extra patrols, especially during rush hour. (9:16am)
- Police and Fire responded to fire alarm at High School. Residual smoke from a vape set off an alarm in the 2nd floor bathroom. (11:18am)
- A caller reported a Digiorno pizza box truck traveling north on Main Street has its back hatch completely open. Caller was concerned items were going to fall out and his vehicles. (12:11pm)
- Animal Control Officer retrieved a deceased cat on Nichols Street. Cat was a domestic-haired orange and white cat, not chipped. (1:14pm)
- A car vs. pedestrian incident was reported near the Registry of Motor Vehicles on Middlesex Avenue. The vehicle did not stop. Caller walked back home and called station stating vehilce was last seen heading towards Federal Street. Caller did not catch the license plate and gave only a partial description of the vehicle. Caller believed driver was female. Fire Department visited caller. Caller decided to go to the hospital. Police visited Dunkin Donuts and Shell Gas Station for witnesses and security footage. (6:47pm)
Friday, October 14:
- An employee of Office Paper Recovery Systems on Andover Street notified the police of illegal dumping. Police responded and the individual was trespassed. (5:43am)
- A caller reported cars speeding in the Eames Street area during the morning commute. Caller requested extra patrols. (7:51am)
- Police were notified that a couch was left on the side of Lowell Street across from Burger King. Police notified DPW, who notified a disposal company. (8:52am)
- Police received report of a man yelling out his car window at a woman and giving her the middle finger. Man, driving a gray 2007 Ford Explorer, took a right out of Cumberland Farms, heading south on Route 38 towards Woburn. Police were unable to locate the individual. (12:39pm)
- The Fire Department requested the Animal Control Officer to respond to a crash on 93 North, near Exit 41, where a cat was found in the vehicle. The ACO Officer transported the cat to the Andover Animal Hospital. (3:25pm)
- A Milestone Group Home resident reported her iPhone 6S, $35 and a pair of earrings were stolen by another resident. (3:27pm)
- A Sandy Lane caller reported a credit card fraud. (4:15pm)
- An off-duty sergeant reported an erratic operator of a white box truck on Route 62, heading towards North Reading. North Reading Police filed an immediate threat summons for operating to endanger and marked lanes violation. (5:44pm)
- Neighbor called in a possibly robbery on a home on Willard Circle currently under construction. Police responded and situation checked OK. (11:12pm)
Saturday, October 15:
- Police received report of a manhole cover removed from the middle of the road on Arlene Avenue. Police notified DPW. (10:41am)
- Milton Taveras (36, Bradford) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for OUI. Taveras was arrested near Sonny’s Mobile on the Run at Lowell Street and West Street. (11:20am)
- A white 2003 Chevy Tahoe and a white 2012 Volkswagen Jetta were involved in a crash at AAA Tire Company at Main Street. Fire Department responded due to possible injury. One vehicle towed. (11:54am)
- A female in her 60’s was walking around the Main Street Consignment & Thrift store attempting to take items. Police responded. Woman was given a trespass order and removed from the store. (12:54pm)
- A Sheldon Avenue caller reported her neighbor’s mailbox was damaged sometime overnight. (2:03pm)
- Police received report of a black and red ATV and a white dirt bike speeding up and down Eleanor Drive. Police responded, but vehicles were gone. (2:06pm)
- A caller reported she wanted an employee at Pacific Grove removed because of a removed gesture. Police responded. Chef gave the finger to another employee. Both employees were advised to speak with the business manager about it. (3:44pm)
- A caller reported an erratic female operator, now parked in the TJ Maxx parking lot, was possibly in a verbal altercation with a man. Police responded, but woman was gone. Police spoke with the woman at her residence, who admitted to a road rage incident, but stated it was mutual. (8:40pm)
- David B. McNee (54, Wilmington) was arrested on warrants for speeding, operator a motor vehicle, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. (10:38pm)
