WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, October 15, 2016.
Girls Grade 2 Games:
Portland Thorns vs. Boston Breakers
The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between Boston Breakers and Portland Thorns commenced. Fantastic ball skills were displayed by Claire Connelly, Charrlotte Kiley, Alliana Pilcher resulting in goals by Elisabeth Gillis, Abigail Engvaldsen, Emma Nolan. The midfield and defensive play of Molly Guyette, Leah Hanafin, and Megan Smith kept the Boston Breakers in excellent shape.
Boys Grade 2 Games:
Chicago Fire vs. LA Galaxy
The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as the Chicago Fire, led by the offensive skills of Dillan Roberts, Jake Arsenault, Collin Holman, and Devin DeGennaro resulted in goals by Jonathan Malley, Jack Cronin, and Jack Morin. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Richard Holland, Carter Callis, Ben Harris, and Aiden Harris kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game. The defense was backed up by the strong goalkeeping of Jack Morin and Dillan Roberts.
