WILMINGTON, MA — At last week’s Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting, Town Clerk Sharon George briefly discussed voting expectations for the 2016 Presidential Election.
George noted that Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin is advising Town Clerks to expect turnout as high as 80%-85%. With 16,704 registered voters in town, that means as many as 14,200 residents are expected to vote in this November’s election.
“It’s amazing how many people have sent in voter registrations,” noted George. “And how many people [contacted the office] just to make sure they’re registered to vote.”
George stressed the state’s new early voting option, which will be available in Wilmington from Monday, October 24th through Friday, November 4th. All in-person Early Voting will take place at Town Hall (121 Glen Road), regardless of your precinct.
Dates and Times for In-Person Early Voting:
