POLICE LOG for October 12: Fox Near School; Yard Toilet Papered; GPS Stolen; Uber Issues

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, October 12, 2016:

  • Police came upon a brown 2004 Honda Accord stopped in the middle of the road on Clark Street. Operator was an Uber drive that stopped to use his phone. Situation checked OK. (1:56am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to check on reports of a fox in the area of the West Intermediate School. DPW employees reported the fox was acting oddly.  Fox was gone by the time the officer arrived. (1:52pm)
  • A realtor called to report a woman was trespassing inside a home on Baker Street throwing items around. Woman was upset she could not located something.  Police responded and sent the the woman on her way.  Police advised the woman to take the matter up in court. (2:09pm)
  • A caller reported a vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and struck a curb on Wildwood Street, before turning into the cemetery. Police had the driver’s vehicle towed and transported him back to his home. No further details. (4:53pm)
  • A Hardin Street resident reported a GPS was stolen from their vehicle. (5:21pm)
  • A tractor trailer broke down at Lowell Street and West Street.  Police notified Coady’s Towing. (5:33pm)
  • A gray 2014 Chevy Sonic and a red 2006 Toyota Corolla were involved in a minor crash in front of Rite Aid. Police issued a written warning for defective equipment (headlights) and failure to use care when stoping. (6:44pm)
  • Police received a report that juveniles were jumping on the fence at Sherwin Williams on Main Street. (7:56pm)
  • Police stopped a motorcycle for speeding and operating a motorcycle on a learner’s permit after sunset while on Ballardvale Street. Police had the motorcycle towed. (8:00pm)
  • Police responded to a dispute between a passenger and Uber drive over payment. (8:12pm)
  • A Lucaya Circle homeowner reported her front yard was vandalized with toilet paper by three car loads of teen boys. (9:36pm)
