SELECTMEN NEWS: Town Enters Into New 3-Year Contract With Dispatchers Union

WILMINGTON, MA — At last week’s Wilmington Selectmen Meeting, the board unanimously executed a collective bargaining agreement between the Town of Wilmington and Wilmington’s 11-member Dispatchers Union (New England Police Benevolent Association, Local 101).

Highlights of the agreement include:

  • A 3-year contract, running from July 1, 2016 to July 30, 2018
  • Base pay will increase 2% in each of the 3 years
  • A 2% step adjustment will take occur in Year #1 of the contract
  • A $1 per hour night shirt differential has been added for 4pm to midnight shifts
  • A $1.25 per hour night shift differential has been added for midnight to 8pm shifts
  • A $350 stipend will now be given to dispatchers who have their EMT certification
  •  To bolster the training of new hires, some existing dispatchers will be designated as ‘communication training officers.’ When a CTO is working on a shift with a new hire, they will receive an extra $8 for that shift.
