10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (October 18)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 10 things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 81. The evening will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

#2) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm at Wilmington Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#3) The Wilmington Board of Library Trustees meets at 7pm at Wilmington Memorial Library’s Banda Room. Read the agenda HERE.

#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) will be screening the new Ghostbusters film at 6:30pm. Learn more and register HERE.

#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is hosting its normal Tuesday activities:

  • Walking Group (9am)
  • Zumba (9am)
  • Computer Class (9:15am)
  • Bocce (9:30am)
  • Aerobics (10:30am)
  • Wii Bowling (12:30pm)

  • 3:30 pm – GIRLS Varsity Cross Country @ Stoneham
  • 3:45 pm – GIRLS JV Soccer @ Wakefield
  • 3:45 pm – GIRLS Varsity Soccer @ Wakefield
  • 4:00 pm – GIRLS Freshman Field Hockey @ Belmont
  • 4:00 pm – BOYS JV Soccer vs Wakefield (at Woburn Street School)
  • 6:00 pm – BOYS Varsity Soccer vs Wakefield (at Wilmington High)

#7) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#8) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

#9) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.
