WILMINGTON, MA — Congratulations to the Wilmington Girls Grade 7-1 team for winning the North Andover Columbus Day Weekend Tournament in the GU14 division 2 bracket.

This newly formed 7th grade team came together in spectacular fashion to post 3 shutout wins in group play. In the semi-final game the team fought hard against a determined Hudson NH team and pulled out a 1-0 win. Their reward was to face the unbeaten and unscored upon Reading team in the finals. It was a very exciting back and forth game resulting in a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation. The Wilmington 7th graders scored a brilliant goal to go up 3-2 in extra time and held off the Reading team for the final few minutes to win the game. An exciting weekend of soccer and much deserved championship for the girls Grade 7-1 team!
