WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 8 things you need to know in Wilmington for Sunday, October 9, 2016.
#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will have a chance of showers, mainly before 3pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. North wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
#2) The Wilmington Farmers Market is having its final market of the season TODAY from 10am to 1pm across from the Town Common. Read this week’s lineup HERE. The Market will feature a ‘Harvest Festival,’ including pumpkin decorating and trick or treating.
#3) We’re One Wilmington will be at the Wilmington Farmers Market, across from the Town Common, for its Annual Halloween Costume Drive and Sale. Donations of new and gently used costumes will be accepted at the Farmers Market from 9am to 12pm. The Costume Sale will take place from 10am to 1pm at the Farmers Market. Drop by to browse our selection. There is no set price per costume – just whatever donation you feel comfortable making.
#4) Wilmington Relay For Life’s “Team Warrior Moms and Kids” is holding its 1st Annual Chili and Cookie Cook-Off from noon to 2pm at Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue). Tickets, which are available at the door, cost $10 per person and $5 for children under 12. Attendees will be able to taste test both chili and cookies. All proceeds from the event will benefit this Wilmington Relay For Life team.
#5) There is a yard sale from 8am to 3pm on Presidential Drive. Learn more HERE.
#6) The Middlesex Canal Museum and Visitors’ Center (71 Faulkner Street, North Billerica) is open from noon to 4pm. Learn about the canal’s history and its impact on the area, including Wilmington.
