10 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (October 4, 2016)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are 10 things you need to know in Wilmington for Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, there is slight chance of showers before 10am in Wilmington today. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

#2) The Wilmington Board of Health meets at 5:30pm in the Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.  The board will hold a public hearing over food truck regulations, plus discuss flu clinics and the upcoming candlelight vigil.

#3) The Wilmington Planning Board meets at 7pm in Town Hall (Room 9). Read the agenda HERE.

#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding TWO programs:

  • Cookin’ The Books (12pm-1pm)
  • Trivia Tuesdays: Teens vs. Parents (6:30pm-7:30pm)

#7) The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks (777 South Street, Tewksbury) holds bingo — open to the public — every Tuesday at 6:45pm. Doors open at 5pm. Pizza, hot dog and pastries are sold. Free coffee.

#8) Red Heat Tavern is holding its weekly bar trivia (pub quiz) with Geeks Who Drink from 7pm to 9pm. Learn more HERE.

#9) Angels In Motion meets every Tuesday, from 9:30am to 2:30pm, at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue).  The club provides a great opportunity for seniors to meet new friends or reacquaint with old ones.  Spend the day playing cards, board games, or just chatting with folks!  A luncheon is served as noon.  There are NO fees. The KofC Hall is handicap accessible.
