WILMINGTON, MA — A Wilmington mom recently won $1,000 from Kiss 108 FM’s ‘Matty’s Money’ giveaway.
“I signed up online,” recalled Edi-Jo Cooper. “I never thought they would call my name, but they did! I had just dropped my kids off at school and was heading to work when I heard my name. I was shocked, but so excited.”
Cooper immediately called the station. But in case she hadn’t been listening, Cooper’s family and friends had her back, bombarding her with texts, calls, emails and Facebook messages instructing her to call Kiss 108.
“The radio host and the behind-the-scenes people were all super nice,” said Cooper. “I was told to go down to the radio station in Medford to claim the money.”
When Cooper arrived during her lunch break, she filled out some tax forms and was told it would take six weeks before she would receive the money.
Cooper plans on using some of her winnings to buy all of her co-workers lunch at the office one day. She plans on spending much of what remains on Christmas shopping for her two children.
“I also promised two very excited kids a special trip to Build-A-Bear,” added Cooper.
