SEABROOK, NH – John S. Zwicker, 83, of Seabrook, NH and a former longtime resident of Wilmington, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Catherine A. (Dingle) Zwicker.  He was also the loving father of Deana Grant and her husband Stephen “Mick” of Haverhill, Sharon Allain and her husband Andrew of Worcester, and Kimberly “Kim” Belfiore and her partner Alex Millspaugh of Tewksbury.  He was the cherished grandfather of Olivia Millspaugh, Elyse Belfiore, Drew and Wesley Allain, Sarah Olson and her husband Peter, Michael Grant and his wife Eliza; great grandchildren Kira and Amaya.  He is also survived by one sister, Lillian “Suzie” Zwicker of Salem, NH.  John’s proudest moments are meeting his wife Catherine and raising his three daughters at their home in Wilmingon, MA along with serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

John was born in Somerville, MA, the son of the late Vernon Zwicker and Lillian (Silver) Hailey. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 sister. He was a carpenter by trade and retired after 25 years as a Commercial Building Foreman for Channel Builders of Andover, MA. He loved vacationing with his wife and daughters at Hampton Beach and trips to North Conway, NH. Following his retirement, he enjoyed trips with his wife Catherine in their motor home to Myrtle Beach, SC and other destinations while making many friends along the way. His most memorable times would be those spent at their home in Wilmington, MA, especially the Big Barn and pool parties with family and friends. Amongst his many hobbies, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots and making homemade beans.

As Johnny would always say, “It is what it is”, “So be it”. He never wanted to talk about any pain he was in and when you asked, he would sing “I Feel Good”, by James Brown.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Anna Jacques Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Whittier Rehab in Haverhill and his final days at Country Rehab in Newburyport, MA for their care and kindness.

In keeping with the wishes of John, there will be no services.

Please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in his memory.
