POLICE LOG for September 25: Residents Claims To Hear Riffle Shots; Disabled Dump Truck

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, September 25, 2016:

  • A McGrane Road resident called to report hearing what she believed to be riffle shots during random times through the day and night. Police checked area and found nothing suspicious. (6:59am)
  • A caller reported a vehicle struck his van at Heavenly Donuts on Main Street and left the scene. Police tracked down the vehicle and facilitated an exchange of paperwork. Damage of both vehicles appeared minor. (8:25am)
  • A caller reported her daughter left her backpack at Rite Aid on Friday afternoon. Police checked with the store and were unable to locate. (10:44am)
  • Police reported a disabled dump truck near the Post Office on Main Street. Repair service is en route. (11:06am)
  • A Fairmont Avenue resident reported an electronic device was left against a telephone pole in the area. Police retrieved a damaged iPod mini. (12:35pm)
  • A caller requested a well-being check on a co-worker who made self-harming statements on Facebook and hasn’t been at work in the last few days. Police checked on the co-worker and there was no issue. (6:32pm)
  • A Mozart Avenue resident reported 3 males in the woods behind his house, possibly digging something. Police responded. Kids were building a fort in the woods. Checked OK. (7:00pm)
