PEABODY, MA — Mr. Joseph X. Yunta, 49, of Peabody, died peacefully, Tuesday September 20, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family, following a year-long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Madrid, he was the beloved son of Caroline (Valle) Yunta and the late Antonio Yunta. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High school, class of 1985.
Mr. Yunta had been employed by Parker Guitar of Wilmington for 11 years and most recently as a driver for the Ipswich Shellfish Company until July when his illness advanced.
Joseph had an artistic soul and was a talented musician; he played the keyboard and synthesizer, acoustic and electric guitars and loved to jam with his friends.
A true outdoorsman, with a kind and gentle spirit, Joseph had an affinity for animals and a true concern for their wellbeing. He enjoyed hiking the White Mountains with his friends and set a goal to climb 100 mountains.
Joseph was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed by those many lives he touched. He was eternally grateful to the Ipswich Shellfish Company for their extraordinary support during his illness.
Surviving Joseph in addition to his mother Caroline are his brother Anthony Yunta and his companion Christine, his Aunts and Uncles, Ramona Mansfield and her husband David of Hanson and Joseph K. DelValle and his wife Maria Helena of Pawtucket, RI, his cousins, Alex Mansfield, Lee Mansfield and Maria Cristina DelValle and his nephew Matthew James Kenna.
ARRANGEMENTS-His funeral service will be held in the Peterson O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) Danvers, Sunday, September 25th at 4 P.M. Relatives and friends invited.
