POLICE LOG for September 14: Drug Activity Behind Town Hall; Concerns Over Car Break-Ins

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, September 14, 2016:

  • A caller reported a black male, approximately 35 years, was walking around the Main Street/Butters Row area with no shoes on. Police gave the man a ride to Tewksbury. (7:23am)
  • Police notified DPW that a speed limit sign was knocked down on Woburn Street. (8:21am)
  • A domesticated dove was removed from a Shawsheen Avenue home and brought to MSPCA/Nevins Farm. (10:07am)
  • A blue 2012 Toyota Camry and a brown 2001 Nissan Altima were involved in a minor car crash in the Rite Aid parking lot. (11:49am)
  • A black 2008 Honda Pilot, gray 2014 Toyota Camry and a red 2016 Mazda CX5 were involved in a crash on Middlesex Avenue. One vehicle was towed. No injuries noted. (11:55am)
  • A town employee reported a small green pickup truck frequently parks behind Town Hall and that the occupants walk into the woods for Class D drug activities. Employee says the truck is parked in the lot.  Police responded and checked on the parties. They admitted to utilizing the trails and ocassionally using a Class D in the past there, but they both checked OK at this time. (12:37pm)
  • Fire and Police responded to a disabled vehicle leaking gas on Hopkins Street. (2:37pm)
  • A Wabash Road resident requested nightly patrols of the area due to recent car break-ins over the last few weeks. (4:21pm)
  • Police received a report of man harassing employees at McDonald’s on Main Street. Police responded and sent the man on his way. Police provided the manager with paperwork for a no trespass order. (7:39pm)
  • A walk-in party reported he captured suspicious activity on his trail cam. (8:32pm)
