SPRINGFIELD, MA — Casey P. Murray, a Sociology major from Wilmington, was selected as an Orientation Group Leader for the 2016 Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program at Western New England University.
SOAR helps set the stage for academic readiness and successful community integration. Orientation Group Leaders (OGLs) help new students transition to Western New England University during SOAR by providing entering students and parents with information and structure for effective adjustment to the university environment.
OGLs are students who have consistently modeled solid citizenship and active participation in the Western New England Community. They are selected for their strong communication skills, their leadership qualities, and their ability to build relationships with students and families.
The University welcomes close to 850 freshman and transfer students to campus this fall.
