WHS 9/11 Memorial Committee Continues To Educate Classmates

WILMINGTON, MA – On Friday, September 9, the WHS 9/11 Memorial Student Committee invited the entire high school to support its mission to educate Wilmington students about the events of September 11, 2001.

The event had an overwhelming and exciting turnout.  The Committee collected cards written by WHS students, which will be sent to the 9/11 Tribute Center in New York City.

The Committee is currently focused on honoring firefighters, in honor of the Ielpi family who lost firefighter Jonathan on 9/11.  In his memory, the Committee is trying to replace some tattered and worn flag poles that the Wilmington Fire Department uses.

The committee continues to motivate students who have worked very hard to maintain the group’s vision of educating future generations about the events that took place on September 11.
