LIBRARY LINEUP: Kids Dinosaur Show On Sept. 21; Shredding Truck On Sept. 24

WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a list of FREE upcoming programs for adults, teens and kids at the Wilmington Memorial Library.

Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Please register online using our Calendar of Events at www.wilmlibrary.org or by calling (978) 694-2099 (for Adult) or (978) 694-2098 (for Children/Teen). Please note we request registration for programs that are marked *RR. Thank you to the Friends of the Library for funding support for library programs!

Adult Events

Movie Night: Feature Film — Captain America Civil War *RR
Tuesday, September 20, 6:30 pm

The denizens of the Marvel Universe are forced to pick sides when Captain America and Iron Man come to blows over ideological differences. Starring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.  Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Services Provided by the Buzzell Senior Center and Beyond *RR
Thursday, September 22, 7 pm

Please join Director, Terri Marciello and Case Manager Laura Pickett of the Department of Elderly Service for a discussion on programs offered at the Buzzell Senior Center as well as the many services the department can provide for Wilmington elders and their families such as home delivered meals, transportation, S.H.I.N.E, fuel assistance, SNAP, File for Life, medical equipment borrowing program and case management services.

Shredding Day
Saturday, September 24, 9 am-12 pm
Town Common Parking Lot (note new location)

The library will host its sixth annual on-site shredding day. Two shredding trucks will be on hand to handle the volume. This event is meant for household shredding in reasonable quantities. We reserve the right to limit the amount of shredding due to wait time or truck space, if needed.  Paper clips, rubber bands, and staples do not have to be removed.  Thanks to the Wilmington Community Fund for subsidizing the cost of the shredding trucks. The shredding is free to the public, but donations to the food pantry are encouraged.

Ahoy Matey! Arrr you ready to walk the plank? Let’s read a story, play some games, and make a craft to celebrate this fun holiday! Ages 3-5

Wednesday, September 21, 3:45 pm
Drop in to help create this magazine written by, for and about kids, and published by the library.  Bring in finished, original artwork, puzzles, poems, comics, jokes, or create it while you are here. Grades 3-5

Dinoman *RR
Wednesday, September 21, 6:30 pm
Have no fear, Dinoman is here! With magic, merry mayhem, and magnificent props, the audience is taken on a trip throughout the Mesozoic era. How do we know dinosaurs were here? What is a fossil? How are they made? This program is fun and informative for all ages and includes life-sized dinosaurs! Ages 5+

 Drop-In Storytime
Friday, September 23, 10 am
Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft! Ages 2-5 and one or more adults.
