POLICE LOG for September 9: Puppies Left In Car; Drive-Thru Drama; Vehicles Not Stopping For School Bus

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, September 9, 2016:

  • A Forest Street caller requested traffic enforcement between 6:45am and 7:15am during the weekdays. (8:58am)
  • A Forest Street caller requested a call from the Animal Control Officer regarding a skunk in her yard.  Animal Control Officer brought skunk to Andover Animal Hospital (9am)
  • A caller reported that in the morning and in the afternoon during school bus pick up and drop off at Main Street and Walker Street, numerous vehicles are not stopping when bus is stopped with stop sign out and lights flashing. (1:47pm)
  • Adalverto Polanco (27, Lawrence) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding. (2:13pm)
  • Police received report of two small puppies left in a black Tahoe, with the windows rolled up, behind Planet Fitness. Vehicle was gone by the time police arrived. (4pm)
  • Police received multiple calls reporting the railroad arms were going up and down repeatedly on Salem Street, only letting a few cars through at a time. Amtrak and MBTA were notified and responded. (4:39pm)
  • A caller reported an erratic operator cut him off near Lucci’s and yelled threats out his window, making gestures. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. (5:52pm)
  • A passerby reported a group of 20+ juveniles were in the Market Basket parking lot, possibly using a Class D substance. Police responded and found no evidence of a Class D substance. (9:08pm)
  • Police received a report of an ATV speeding up and down Buckingham Road. Police were unable to locate. (9:39pm)
  • Caller was the last customer in the Burger King drive-thru. The car behind him was refused service and when it drove by, the occupants threw coins at this car, causing scratches. Police responded and did not observe any noticeable damage to the vehicle. Other car in question was not located. (10:47pm)
