POLICE LOG for September 8: A Fox Goes To Church; Man Accidentally Gives His Bike Away

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, September 8, 2016:

  • A white 2007 Nissan Murano and gray 2015 Toyota Rav4 were involved in a crash near Dunkin Donuts on Main Street. Both parties declined medical treatment. (7:11am)
  • A caller reported a man was sleeping inside a vehicle on Fairmont Avenue. Police responded. Man claimed to be a painter working in the area. (8:16am)
  • Police received a report of a fox running around near St. Thomas on Middlesex Avenue. Police notified the Animal Control Officer. (9:36am)
  • Police received a second call regarding the fox, which was on the lawn of the church. Fox appears sick and is aggressive when people come close by. Fox eventually ran into the woods. (10:06am)
  • A man told police he went inside Main Street Consignment & Thrift on Main Street for a few minutes, leaving a gray Huffy bike outside. When he came outside, the bike was gone. Man had left his bike in an area where free merchandise is typically left. Bike was mistakenly taken and eventually returned. (10:54am)
  • John R. Tobin (31, Wilmington) was arrested on a warrant of apprehension and transported to Woburn District Court. (10:59am)
  • A gray 2003 Honda Accord and a green 2000 Subaru Forester were involved in a crash near Speedway on Main Street. No injuries noted. Both vehicles were towed. (12:45pm)
  • Police assisted a driver with moving his vehicle off the roadway after running out of gas on Aldrich Road. A family member was en route to assist the driver. (4:31pm)
  • Police assisted a driver who locked himself out of his vehicle while pumping gas at Shell on Main Street. (9:48pm)
