WILMINGTON, MA — Shawsheen Elementary Principal Lisa King is currently seeking one community member to be part of this years’ school council. The meetings will be from 3pm to 4pm in the afternoon. If any parent/guardian or a community member you may know would like to be on the council, please send King an email at lisa.king[at]wpsk12.com by this Sunday, September 11.
Highlights to note about school council:
- School councils are the responsibility of each building principal; the principal serves as co-chair of the council
- The first meeting of the school council must be convened no later than forty days after the first day of school
- The major responsibilities of the school council are to assist in the development of the school improvement plan and the development of the annual budget
- School council meetings are public meetings and must be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting
- Minutes of the meeting must be kept and should also be kept on file in the Superintendent’s Office

- June 6th
