WILMINGTON, MA — Taylor Twellman, former Major League Soccer all-star and current ESPN Lead Soccer Analyst, will visit Wilmington High School to discuss concussion safety on Wednesday, September 14 around 5:15pm at Alumni Field.
Twellman retired from professional soccer in 2010 due to complications from multiple concussions and has since founded ThinkTaylor.
ThinkTaylor, a 5o1c3 non-profit, is dedicated to changing the culture in the world of concussions. ThinkTaylor’s positive message emphasizes awareness, recognition, education and putting the health of kids first. The organization strives to create positive social change in the area of concussions and, in return a safer, healthier and smarter environment.
Twellman asks student athletes to take his “TT Pledge:”
- I pledge to be EDUCATED on the signs & symptoms of concussions
- I pledge to be HONEST with my coaches, parents, teammates and teachers
- I pledge to be SUPPORTIVE of anyone with a concussion

Twellman’s address will occur at approximately 5:15pm, between the Wilmington High vs. Bemont High JV and Varsity Field Hockey games. All teams will take the TT pledge.
Fans who attend are encouraged to wear orange, the color associated with concussion awareness. Any fan wearing orange will receive free admission.
According to WHS Athletic Director Tim Alberts, Wilmington is one of just five schools in the state that Twellman will be visiting during Concussion Awareness Week.
