WILMINGTON, MA — 19 Wilmington youngsters participated in the WHS Cheerleaders’ first ever “Cheerleader For A Day” program on Friday.
The youngsters were treated to a game day experience, cheering on the sidelines and performing at halftime of the Wilmington-Winchester Varsity Football Game.
Participants also received a mini clinic prior to the game, where they learned cheers, jumps and a halftime dance from the WHS Cheerleaders. After working up a sweat, the kids and cheerleaders enjoyed a pizza party. Kids also went home with a t-shirt.
The program, which served as a small fundraiser for the team, was open to any interested Wilmington child enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
