POLICE LOG for August 31: Neighborhood Dogs Kill Pet Chickens; Police Nab Speeders In School Zones

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are FOURTEEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, August 31, 2016:

  • Police received a complaint of a large office chair left in the road on Bridge Lane. Police pulled it to the side of the road and notified Keolis for removal. (6:50am)
  • Police cited 3 drivers for speeding near the Boutwell Early Childhood Center. (7:24am)
  • Police cited 3 drivers for speeding near the North Intermediate School. (8:07am)
  • Police notified Mass Highway that the lights at the intersection in front of Wilmington Plaza are on flash. (8:46am)
  • A caller reported a white SUV struck a mailbox on Lake Street. (9:18am)
  • A walk-in party reported they were given 3 bad checks worth a total of $15,000. (11:36am)
  • Wilmington Police installed 7 safety seats for residents at the Public Safety Building. (12:28pm)
  • High School underwent a fire drill. (1:20pm)
  • A Jordan Street caller reported her neighbor’s dogs just came into her yard and killed her chickens. (1:54pm)
  • Employee accidentally tripped panic alarm at Registry of Motor Vehicles on Middlesex Avenue. (1:57pm)
  • Police issued a citation to a driver on Burlington Avenue for failing to stop for a school bus. (1:58pm)
  • A caller found two hypodermic needles behind the Lucci’s plaza near the dumpster. Police retrieved needles for disposal. (4:41pm)
  • Police received report of 2 cars on the Butters Row bridge — neither allowing the other to pass, causing a traffic back-up.  By the time police arrived, there was no traffic issues. (6:43pm)
  • A caller reported a female appeared intoxicated standing in front of the Benjamin Moore store on main Street. Police waited with her until a cab picked her up. (9:07pm)
