POLICE LOG for August 29: Needle Found In School Parking Lot; Fire Department Battles Large Brush Fire

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, August 29, 2016:

  • Police noticed two vehicles in a parking lot on Middlesex Avenue and felt it to be suspicious.  Police found that the parties were playing Pokemon Go. (1:09am)
  • A school employee found a hypodermic needle in the rear of the Shawsheen School parking lot. Police retrieved the needle. (7:30am)
  • Glass was reported on the sidewalk on Aldrich Road from a previous motor vehicle accident. Police notified DPW. (8:33am)
  • A Marcia Road resident reported they were a victim of credit card fraud. (2:15pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire off of Main Street. Police shut down a portion of Main Street, per the Fire Department’s request. Reading Light, National Grid, and Eversource were notified. State Police provided road closure signs. Learn more about the brush fire response HERE. (5:10pm)
  • A gray 2014 Ford Fusion and a white 2016 Acura SE were involved in an accident in the high school parking lot. No injuries. (5:51pm)
  • A Judith Road resident reported she was a victim of credit card fraud. (6:59pm)
