POLICE LOG for August 19: Syringe Found; Dog Attack; Mailbox Damaged

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, August 19, 2016:

  • Police checked on a vehicle parked in the rear of the parking lot of Grace Chapel. Parties were playing Pokemon Go. (1:01am)
  • A gray 2010 Honda CRV and a gray 2004 Acura 4D were involved in a crash near Grace Chapel on West Street.  Both vehicles were towed. One driver was transported to the hospital. (6:48am)
  • A Roosevelt Road caller reported her mailbox was damaged overnight. (7:56am)
  • A street sign for Shady Lane Drive was reported missing. Police notified DPW. (1:43pm)
  • A caller reported finding a syringe on Nickerson Avenue. Police retrieved the item and returned it for proper disposal. (4:50pm)
  • A Clyde Avenue caller reported a dog from Main Street came onto his property and attacked him and his dog.  Owner had a small cut to his finger and dog appeared to have a bite mark on its neck. Animal Control Officer to follow up. (9:03pm)
  • A caller reported a possibly intoxicated man approached her in the Lucci’s parking lot and asked her for train times and a ride. When she refused, he walked towards the liquor store. Police were unable to locate the man. (9:50pm)
  • The manager of Target was closing up for the night and requested assistance in moving along an 18-wheeler parked in the lot. Police sent the truck on its way. (10:50pm)
