POLICE LOG for August 18: Boy Threatens Dog; Attempted Break-In; Fox Sighting

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, August 18, 2016:

  • A caller spotted a fox near St. Dorothy’s.  Animal Control Officer responded, but could not locate the anima. (1:36pm)
  • A Subway employee called the Police Department after a customer with a service dog came into the restaurant.  Employee was previously told by the franchise owner not to allow dogs in the store.  Animal Control Officer advised employee of service animal laws. (1:51pm)
  • A Mill Road caller reported they received a call stating that their father was in an accident and being held hostage. Caller suspected and later confirmed it was a scam call. (4:52pm)
  • Police gave a verbal warning for speeding to a driver on Shawsheen Avenue. Driver said she was taking her child to urgent ccare center for an illness.  Driver declined any medical help. (6:10pm)
  • Police issued a driver a citation for two counts of child seta belt violations. A 3-year-old and a 7-year-old were unsecured. (6:23pm)
  • A caller reported a boy at the Skate Park with a red shirt and black shorts made threatening statements regarding the caller’s dog. Police responded and spoke to a group of youths, who said the boy who had the verbal altercation already left. (7:21pm)
  • A Harold Avenue caller reported that it appeared someone attempted to break into their home via screen door between tonight and last Sunday. (8:23pm)
  • Police received a loud party complaint on Aldrich Road. Police responded and restored the peace. (10:33pm)
