Wilmington Families Invited To Back-To-School Safety Day

WOBURN, MA — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, in partnership with Lahey Health and Winchester Hospital, will host a free back-to-school safety day on Saturday, September 10, 10am to 1pm, at the Middlesex DA’s Offices (15 Commonwealth Avenue, Woburn).  The event’s purpose is to remind parents and kids of important safety tips as they start the school year.

Visitors will be able to visit information booths hosted by the District Attorney’s Office and community partners to receive resources on bullying, cyber-safety, bike safety and more as they prepare for back-to-school. Visitors will also be able to explore over 40 emergency vehicles from public and private partners across the state including S.W.A.T. Trucks, Military Humvees, Mobile Command Centers, Motorcycles, Fire Trucks and much more. Additionally, the first 100 visitors to the teddy bear clinic will receive a free teddy bear.

Participating agencies include: Billerica Police Department, Burlington Police Department, Chelmsford Police Department, Melrose Police Department, North Reading Police Department, Somerville Police Department, Tewksbury Police Department, Woburn Police Department, Burlington Fire Department, Lowell Fire Department and North Reading Fire Department as well as 8 federal agencies; 8 state agencies and over a dozen private organizations.
