POLICE LOG for August 17: Wilmington Man Arrested For Armed Robbery; Panhandler At Savers

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, August 17, 2016:

  • Police noticed 2 individuals playing Pokemon Go in the Wildwood Cemetery and sent them on their way. (1:48am)
  • Police notified DPW of a large tree limb down across the road on Ayotte Street. (2:31am)
  • A caller reported a white man wearing a red shirt and red shorts was seen jogging out of the yard at NER Construction on Woburn Street. Caller was unsure if anything was taken and in what direction the man headed in his vehicle. Police notified surrounding communities. Vehicle was stopped in Reading. The driver — Enrique E. Caceda (50, Malden) — was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. (5:55am)
  • A caller reported a woman was asking for money from customers in the Savers parking lot. Woman was described as white wearing a white shirt and white shorts. Police responded and caught up with the woman at Cumberland Farms on Main Street. Police moved the woman along. (10:00am)
  • Thomas G. Rooney (57, Wilmington) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop/yield, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. (10:40am)
  • Derek A. Queen (24, Wilmington) was arrested for armed robbery.
  • Dominic R. McCann (25, Wilmington) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding. (4:29pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with an electrical fire on Middlesex Avenue. (5:16pm)
  • Police advised a small group of kids to stop playing football in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts on Middlesex Avenue. (7:12pm)
