KINGSTON, RI — At the University of Rhode Island’s 130th Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, 2016, about 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded.
The following Wilmington students graduated from the University:
- Paige Martha Tonra received a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, General Business. Graduated Cum Laude.
- Katherine Cecelia Blanch received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduated Magna Cum Laude.
- Gabriella Marie Polcari received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduated Summa Cum Laude.
- Christopher Phillip Dagostino received a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management.
- Sarah Elizabeth Ippolito received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
- Leandra Murphy received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, General Business.
- Christiana Contrada received a Bachelor of Science in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design, Public Relations.
Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
The University of Rhode Island’s pioneering research extends the University’s influence well beyond its coastal borders, while its unique interdisciplinary courses provide about 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. In May 2016, about 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded. The University now has about 120,000 alumni worldwide.
