WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, August 14, 2016:
- Police were out behind the Public Safety Building with 3 individuals who were looking for their drone. Drone was located on the roof of the building. Drone was retrieved and parties were sent on their way. (3:04am)
- A female juvenile called to report that she and her boyfriend were walking on Glen Road and a man in a white van with black rims stopped and offered them a ride. The driver was described as a white male, heavy set, with curly brown hair. No license plate given and caller was unable to identify make of vehicle. Caller felt it was suspicious and wanted it logged. Caller was advised if she sees a vehicle in the area again, or if she’s approached again, to call as soon as possible. (4:15am)
- Police received a report of a box knives on the ground on Salem Street. Police responded and retrieved a box of old silverware for disposal. (8:55am)
- Police noticed a group of individuals on the path behind Ristuccia Arena and sent them on their way. (1:04pm)
- Police received a report of a wire down and on fire near A&S Towing on Andover Street. Fire Department and RMLD responded. (2:59pm)
- Police notified DPW that tree branches were hanging over the sidewalk at Main Street and Veranda Avenue, causing a safety issue for pedestrians. (6:30pm)
- Police received report of a group of youths playing basketball in the gazebo. Caller was concerned about damage. Group was gone by the time police arrived. (7:37pm)
- Police noticed a man outside the Congregational Church. Man was playing Pokemon Go and sent on his way. (9:42pm)
