SELECTMEN NEWS: Big Issues To Be Discussed At Tonight’s Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, August 15 at 7pm in Room 9 of Town Hall.

There is a great deal on the agenda, including:

  • Selectmen will receive an update on improvements made to the Softball Field at Town Park.
  • Selectmen will receive a memorandum from Town Manager Jeff Hull breaking down the costs incurred by the town during the carnival.
  • Selectmen will have a discussion surrounding the possible need to have associate members on the Board of Appeals.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the ongoing led and copper testing of water sources in Wilmington Public Schools.
  • Selectmen will consider a request of We’re One Wilmington to conduct the 2017 Run For Wilmington/Walk For Kim Forte. WOW Vice President Joe Martiniello will also update the Selectmen on the non-profit’s recent activities.
  • Selectmen will consider a request of Green International Affiliates to renew a permit for earth removal at Yentile Farm (9 Cross Street).
  • Selectmen will consider a request of William Schneider, Operations Manager of the Benevento Family Limited Partnership for a flammable license for property located at 910 Salem Street.
  • Selectmen will consider a disclosure request from Board of Appeals member Jacquelyn Santini regarding an upcoming case.
  • Selectmen will consider a request of Police Chief Michael Begonis to use Rotary Park for a Movie Night on Friday, September 16.
  • Selectmen will consider a request of Mary Ellen Dunn, of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, to place signs on the Town Common from October 15 to 29.
  • Selectmen will consider a request of Mark Nelson to conduct a block party on September 5, noon to 11pm.
  • Selectmen will sign the warrant for the State Primary on September 8.

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV-G — Channel 22 on Comcast and Channel 38 on Verizon.  The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
