POLICE LOG for August 8: Scam Police Donation Call; Injured Fox; Pregnant Cats; Trapped Raccoons

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, August 8, 2016:

  • Police notified Mass Highway multiple times due to the lights at the intersection of Main Street and Church Street being in blinking mode. (4:28am)
  • A Cumberland Farms employee called to report a man in a car in front of the store drinking and throwing empty nips onto the sidewalk.  Police responded. Both individuals in the car were trespassed from the store. (6:42am)
  • Animal Control Officer assisted the Billerica Animal Control Officer with an injured fox on Riverhurst Street in Billerica. (9:10am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to call of raccoons trapped in a dumpster behind ADA Solutions on Andover Street. Raccoons were sent on their way. (9:34am)
  • A caller reported they were bit by an unleashed dog at Lucci Realty Rust. Animal Control Officer gave the dog in question a 10-day quarantine. (9:44am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to a home on Hillcrest Street where 5 pregnant female cats were surrendered and transported to Muddy Creek Animal Hospital in Rowley. (10:33am)
  • Owner of a gray 2010 Dodge Journey reported his parked vehicle was struck in the Market Basket parking lot. (1:45pm)
  • A Woburn Street resident reported a call from a person asking for donations for “NEOA” on behalf of the Wilmington Police Department. Resident was advised not to give money out and to notify the police if the person comes to her home. (8:13pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a dryer fire on Glenview Road. (8:41pm)
