POLICE LOG for August 5: Man Spits On Police Cruiser; Shoplifter; Car Keyed; Lowell Woman Arrested

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, August 5, 2016:

  • A resident was walking home on Grove Avenue and was approached by a blue vehicle, whose driver yelled something out of the window. Police stayed on the line with the caller until she reached her home. (12:11am)
  • A Pineridge Road resident reported their trash barrels and their neighbors’ trash barrels were missing. (2:36am)
  • Police noted the street sign for Pineridge Road was missing.  Police notified DPW. (2:43am)
  • A Burlington Avenue caller reported two haws were trapped under her back porch. Animal Control Officer was able to release the birds. (8:42am)
  • A black 2015 Chrysler SE Limited and a black 2015 Toyota Sienna were involved in a crash at Middlesex Avenue and Federal Street. One vehicle was towed. Unspecified injuries. (11:43am)
  • Police received report of a shoplifter at Main Street Consignment & Thrift Shop on Main Street. Shoplifter was a Hispanic female, in her 40’s. Shoplifter was served with a no trespass order. (1:46pm)
  • A caller reported his vehicle was keyed in the Registry of Motor Vehicles’ parking lot. Caller said he had pictures of the culprit and the car they left in.  Caller said he’ll come to the station to file a report. (2:53pm)
  • An Allen Park Drive resident reported that when she returned home, someone was inside her house. She was unable to provide a description. The individual left out the front door when the resident opened it. Police checked the home — nothing appeared missing. Police checked the surrounding area. (4:24pm)
  • A man spit on a police cruiser in the parking lot at Cumberland Farms on Main Street. No further information. (6:30pm)
  • Police received report of a group of youths playing basketball on the town’s gazebo. Police responded, but youths were already gone. (6:44pm)
  • Jane Njenga Gianatasio (58, Lowell) was arrested on outstanding warrants. Gianatasio was arrested in the Sonic parking lot. (11:30pm)
