WILMINGTON, MA – On Saturday, August 6, at approximately 5:42am, Wilmington Police responded to a residence on Clark Street in Wilmington for an apparent domestic assault.
Upon arrival, police located the suspect, Francesco Cenca, 44, of Wilmington, in the residence, suffering from apparent self inflicted stab wounds. Cenca was transported by med-flight to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The victim, an adult female, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The victim and the suspect were known to each other.
This open investigation is being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Wilmington Police Department.
