WILMINGTON REC REMINDERS: Trip Openings To Vegas, Septemberfest & Plays

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Recreation Department wants residents to know that there are still openings for the programs and trips. Registration information can be found HERE.

Upholstery Workshop
Instructor: Louise Redgate
Dates: Thursdays, September 15 – November 17, (no 10/27 & 11/3), 8 Weeks
Time: 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Location: Town Hall Auditorium
Cost: $68
Give new life to a piece of your old furniture by learning to reupholster. You’ll cover your piece with new fabric, learn to tie springs and re-pad. A supply list will be provided as your project progresses. Be aware – you will have homework! The class motto is “If you can carry it, bring it!”

Thursday, September 15, 7:30 p.m. Performance, Shubert Theatre

The stage adaptation of Cheers, the Boston-based Emmy Award-winning NBC series is launching its national tour in… Boston! Set in the interior of the iconic neighborhood bar, you will visit classic characters like Carla, Coach, Cliff and of course, Norm. The play will feature the first meeting and subsequent romance of Sam Malone, the Red Sox pitcher-turned-bar owner, and waitress Diane Chambers. Come on, you know you want to go where everybody knows your name!

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder
Thursday, October 20, 7:30 p.m. Performance, Shubert Theatre
$129 includes bus transportation and orchestra seat
The story of Monty, the heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by – you guessed it – eliminating the eight pesky relatives that stand in his way. Getting away with murder can be so much fun!

Septemberfest
$99, Sunday, September 25
This new trip brings us a taste of fall! Step back in time at Old Sturbridge Village Apple Days as costumed interpreters and village historians recreate harvest time in the 1830’s. Stroll through the entire recreated 19th century village at your leisure. You might choose to visit a blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, country store or printing office. Lunch will follow at the charming, historic Publick House. Since 1771, the Publick House has welcomed guests with open hearths and Yankee hospitality. The last stop of the day will be at a farm stand for those who want to bring home some tasty treats. A bag of apples is included for all.

Las Vegas
$825 p.p.d.o. Tuesday, November 15 – Saturday, November 19, 2016
Trip includes roundtrip flights, all airport/hotel transfers, deluxe room at the Flamingo Las Vegas, baggage handling, taxes and gratuities (except escort).
