WILMINGTON, MA — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 27, 2016:
- Police observed suspicious activity in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Middlesex Avenue. Situation checked OK. Individuals were playing Pokemon Go. (1:43am)
- A resident reported fireworks were being lit off in the Alice Avenue area. Police responded. No one would come to the door and police observed the remnants of a fire pit. (3:32am)
- Police assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire on Marjorie Road. Police spoke with an individual who stated a light colored pickup truck was seen in the cul de sac at 2:45pm lighting off a firework display. (4:57am)
- Police installed safety seats in six vehicles throughout the morning and afternoon.
- A Salem Street caller reported a driver of red pickup truck was possibly violating town bylaws by dumping illegally in the area. Police were unable to respond due to other pending calls. (11:32am)
- A gray 2010 Honda Odyssey and a gray 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe were involved in a crash at Concord Street and Lopez Road. No injuries noted. Airbags deployed. Vehicles were towed. (1:19pm)
- A Faulkner Avenue resident reported their white cat wen missing this morning. (6:01pm)
- An Ashwood Avenue caller reported 2 males in a black van are on a construction site throwing items into the back of a van. Police responded. Van operators had permission from contractor to remove scraps. (6:18pm)
- Police received report of a group of youths in the parking lot at The Learning Experience, near Sonic, breaking glass bottles and swearing at passing vehicles. Police responded and sent the children on their way. (6:34pm)
