OBITUARY: Nina J. Smith-Lindqvist

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Nina J. Smith-Lindqvist, of Marblehead, died after a prolonged illness on Thursday, July 28.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Amanda 18, Kira 16, and Mia 12, by her mother Solveig Smith of Marblehead, her brother Marc Smith of North Carolina, and many Smith Uncles, Aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nina was born in Boston and spent her early life mostly in the Cambridge, Wilmington, Belmont areas. She moved to Sweden when she was a teen and lived there for 20 years. She returned to the Swampscott/Marblehead area 12 years ago. She loved nature and spent as much time as she could in the woods and forests, and brought the outdoors into her home as much as she could. She embraced all things Swedish and tried to in-corporate the folklore, culture and traditions into her daily life. She could always make people laugh with her sharp wit and a twinkle in her eye. She loved life and will be missed by so many.

Donations can be made to ALS research or by participation in the Ice Bucket Challenge in lieu of flowers.
