POLICE LOG for July 26: False Alarm At Bank, Missing Dog, Graffiti, Suspicious Man

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, July 26, 2016:

  • Police came across a company loading gravel onto the railbed on Grove Avenue. Company was advised they needed a detail to continue operating. Company ceased work and waited for a detail officer. (7:16am)
  • A gray 2013 Toyota Rav4 was rear-ended by a red 2002 Dodge Caravan at the stop light at Woburn Street and Lowell Street. No injuries reported. (8:41pm)
  • A caller reported she is dog sitting and the dog took off towards the woods on Lockwood Road. Animal Control Officer responded, but was unable to locate. (10:17am)
  • The hold-up alarm was accidentally triggered at People’s United Bank on Main Street. When police called to confirm emergency, the phone number on file went to a fax machine. Police sought out the correct number. (1:09pm)
  • A resident lost his Patriots lanyard with keys and bottle opener key chain near Bill Dube Hyundai. (1:28pm)
  • The (former) Bruins locker room alarm was accidentally trigged at Ristuccia Arena. (2:03pm)
  • A gray 2008 Hyundai Elantra broke down near Sonic on Main Street, causing a traffic hazard. Police were able to move the vehicle into the Sonic parking lot.  Operator was awaiting a AAA tow. (5:20pm)
  • An Elwood Road resident reported her neighbors witnessed an unknown man taking pictures of their house at approximately 4:30pm. When confronted, the man said the house was for sale, which is now true. Caller requested and officer speak with her and her neighbors. (6:22pm)
  • A Heather Drive resident reported a phone scam. (7:22pm)
  • Police noted graffiti on the metal box on the phone pole at Everett Avenue and Faulkner Avenue. Police notified Verizon to remove. (10:25pm)
