WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, July 24, 2016:
- Operator and passenger of a gray 2006 Volvo SE S60 were observed asleep in the drive-thru at Simards on Main Street. Police responded and arrested Wesley Ayala (36, Tewksbury) for an OUI Liquor. (1:51am)
- Police received a report of 10 youth walking down Shawsheen Avenue. Caller found it suspicious as his house was pranked last week. Police responded and spoke with 5 youths. A parent responded and took custody of the youths. (3:05am)
- Police came across 3 youths on Main Street and spoke with them. They were heading to Cumberland Farms on their bikes and then heading home after. (3:39am)
- K9 Ridic underwent some training at the Whitfield School on Middlesex Avenue. (8:38am)
- A Main Street resident reported a large branch came down onto his property, currently over his fence and obstructing a sidewalk. Resident was concerned for pedestrians. Tree Department contacted Mass Highway. (9:47am)
- A Faneuil Drive caller reported a possible larceny from and damage done to a neighbor’s home. Police responded. Home’s front porch was damaged and several bicycles were missing. Police were unable to reach the homeowner, but will followup. (4:04pm)
- A caller’s son left a turquoise mountain bike at the high school on Friday, but the bike is no longer there. Caller wanted it logged in case it was found. (4:45pm)
- A Lowell Street resident reported a family of cats were living on his porch. He was worried his dog may harm them. Police gave them the numbers to the MSPCA and the Lowell Humane Society, and the Animal Control Officer will followup. (5:25pm)
- Cheryl A. Reynolds (57, Wilmington) was issued a summons for the malicious destruction of property over $250. A passerby reported Reynolds, in her black 2004 Ford Explorer, repeatedly drove into a fence on Swain Road. (6:45pm)
- A passerby found a bicycle in Lubber’s Brook off of Brand Avenue, but was unable to remove it himself. Police notified DPW. (7:32pm)
