POLICE LOG for July 21: Wilmington Man Arrested For OUI; Bat In Home; Mouse In Car

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 21, 2016:

  • Police confiscated a small amount of marijuana, pipe and grinder during a traffic stop at Main Street and Harvard avenue. (12:54am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to a bat in a home on Beeching Avenue. Officer retrieved the bat and brought it to Best Pets in Tewksbury and then a lab in Boston. Homeowner’s cat received a 6-month quarantine. (8:13am)
  • A Wildwood Street resident reported a possible injured bobcat in their yard. Animal Control Officer responded, but was unable to locate the animal. (12:47pm)
  • A caller reported an older man approached her and offered her a ride. She declined, but man “would not let the situation go.” Man was last seen in his blue 2004 Chevy Silverado heading towards the Town Center. Wilmington Police located vehicle in parking lot of Route 62 Plaza in Burlington. Burlington Police responded. Police had a conservation with the man and advised him. (1:46pm)
  • A Grove Avenue caller reported a car dropped off a young man with two large trash bags. Man walked down the access road and later emerged without the bags.  Police responded and retrieved the buried bags — which contained laptops and other electronics. Police contacted the Tewksbury Police with a description of the car and the males in question. (3:18pm)
  • Animal Control Officer assisted a resident with removing a mouse from her car. (4:12pm)
  • A lifeguard at Town Beach reported an approximately 40 year-old woman appears to be consuming alcohol from her purse. Police responded. Woman arranged to get herself and her child picked up.  Her vehicle was allowed to remain in the lot. (4:57pm)
  • Police checked on a car pulled over on Concord Street with its hazards on.  It was just an Uber driver who was lost.  Police gave him directions. (6:26pm)
  • A Park Street resident reported he lost his cell phone around 9am this morning when he left on the roof of his car. (6:38pm)
  • A large crane drove by Cochrane Road and pulled down some wires. Police notified Comcast and power company. (9:14pm)
  • Ethan David Cook (20, Wilmington) was arrested for an OUI (Liquor), Possessing Liquor As A Person Under 21; and Having A False Liquor ID Card/License. Cook was involved in an accident on Jaques Lane. No injuries reported. (11:35pm)
