POLICE LOG for July 14: Drug Arrest; Car vs. Pole; Pokemon Go

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 14, 2016:

  • Steven G. Anderson (21, Wilmington) was arrested for possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class D drug, number plate violation, and failure to wear a seatbelt.  Anderson was pulled over on Glen Road over a license plate light and seatbelt violation. Anderson then consented to a search of his vehicle. (12:32am)
  • Police checked on a vehicle in the high school parking lot. Situation OK. Parties were playing Pokemon Go. (1:19am)
  • A resident of Deming Way Extension requested to speak to an officer regarding an incident that occurred last night at 5:30pm. 2 juveniles were riding bikes in the area and reportedly bumped into the caller’s wheelchair and startled her dog. (8:49am)
  • A black 2016 Toyota Rav4 struck a pole on Butters Row. Police notified RMLD and Verizon. Vehicle towed. No injuries noted. (8:53am)
  • A Pilling Road resident reported a bird was stuck in her chimney. (9:14am)
  • A driver of a gray 2004 Chevy Silverado called to report her vehicle was just sideswiped on Salem Street. The driver who struck her did not stop. (9:32am)
  • A man reported he lost his wallet while fishing at Town Beach. Black wallet had $40-$60, license, debit card and gift cards. (12:57pm)
  • An Elm Street resident requested to speak to an officer regarding potentially malicious damage done to his mailbox. (2:55pm)
  • A caller reported LED sticks were stolen off he son’s grave at the Wildwood Cemetery. Sticks were valued at $15. (2:56pm)
  • Michael A. York (29, Wilmington) was arrested on warrants. (6:24pm)
