POLICE LOG for July 13: Man Approaches Kids; Lots Of Suspicious Activity Calls

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, July 13, 2016:

  • A caller reported that last night, while her children were walking on King Street, a male party in a small red vehicle approached them.  No further information available. Police advised caller to call them if the vehicle is seen again. (8:52am) [NOTE: The police later issued an alert HERE.]
  • A Jere Road caller asked for the Animal Control Officer to assist in freeing a rabbit that has gotten stuck in a hockey net. (9:01am)
  • A Rhodes Street caller complained that someone in a blue van is sleeping on her street at night. Police advised caller to notify them if/when the van returns. (9:06am)
  • A caller reported theft from Lucci’s Supermarket took place last night. (9:09am)
  • Fire Department responded to a much fire in front of TJ Maxx. (12:53pm)
  • Police issued 10 parking tickets on Main Street during the afternoon.
  • A Marcia Road caller reported that on July 9th, her mailbox was knocked off it’s post. She has replaced it, but wanted it logged in case the vandals from the other cases of mailbox damage has been identified. (2:39pm)
  • Police conducted a check of Town Hall. A group of juveniles were found in the area playing a game on their phone. Police sent them on their way. (9:27pm)
  • A caller purchased a home not yet finished on Eleanor Drive. At approximately 9:15pm, a neighbor reported seeing a male and female in a pickup truck enter the house.  When the neighbor approached the parties, they claied they were interested in buying it and left without further incident. Caller requested extra overnight patrols of the area. (9:32pm)
