POLICE LOG for July 12: Dog Park Complaint; Another 2AM Pokemon Incident

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, July 12, 2016:

  • A walk-in party reported that when he exited Route 93, a party in another vehicle threw rocks at his car. (12:13am)
  • Police noticed a vehicle in the lot of Grace Chapel on West Street. Parties were at this location playing Pokemon Go. Police sent parties on their way. (1:41am)
  • Police issued 7 warnings for speeding on Andover Street during the morning hours.
  • A Pouliot Place resident reported receiving an IRS scam call. (10:03am)
  • A caller reported excessive dog waste at the dog park. Caller stated owners were leaving dogs in area unattended. Police notified the Animal Control Officer. (10:55am)
  • Police noticed two juveniles were climbing on the Connex container near the Snack Shack behind Wilmington Town Hall. Police advised the kids and sent them on their way. (12:58am)
  • K9 Ridic underwent training at the Harnden Tavern on Salem Street. (2:22pm)
  • Leo T. Cavarretta (27, Woburn) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license;  marked lanes violation; leaving the scene of property damage; and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Cavaretta was involved in a 2-vehicle crash on Route 125. (3:06pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Ohio Street. (4:28pm)
  • Police notified DPW that the trash barrels by the Snack Shack behind Town Hall have been turned over. (9:00pm)
