WILMINGTON, MA — Here are TWELVE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, July 9, 2016:
- A caller at CVS reported a man yelling and pounding on the door to the Learing Experience. Police responded. Situation checked OK — cleaners were on scene. (2:25am)
- Gregory Weisse (29, Tewksbury) was arrested for an OUI (Liquor) and marked lanes violations. Weisse was pulled over in front of Market Basket. (2:40am)
- A caller reported an unspecified issue with an Uber drive. Police responded. Driver had left upon police’s arrival. Caller made arrangements for a ride home from Sonny’s Mobil on the Run. (2:51am)
- A Broad Street caller reported a mailbox was left on his driveway. Mailbox was from Lawrence Street. Police also noted another damaged mailbox on Lawrence Street. (7:15am)
- Police notified of a Verizon junction box left wide open with a screwdriver laying on top of it. Box is at Chestnut Street and Butters Row. No technician appeared to be in the area. Police notified Verizon. (10:55am)
- Police received report of teens going in and out of a vacant property on Olmstead Avenue. Teens left prior to police arrival. Teens were described as 4 males and 2 females with long hair. Neighbors have contacted real estate company to secure location. (3:09pm)
- A King Street resident reported her mailbox was missing. (4:35pm)
- A Marjorie Road resident reported missing two kittens — both grey tigers, one with a blue collar and one with a red collar. (5:40pm)
- A caller reported a group of children on bicycles were climbing onto the loading dock at the Shawsheen School. Children were gone upon the police’s arrival. (5:43pm)
- A Faneuil Drive resident reported a bicycle was taken from his property. (7:57pm)
- A resident reported what sounded like a female screaming in the Shawsheen School playground. Police responded. A group of teens in the area admitted to being loud. (8:44pm)
- Police notified DPW that the picnic table behind the West Intermediate School collapsed and is in need of disposal. (8:44pm)
