WILMINGTON, MA — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, July 4, 2016:
- A Denault Drive resident called to report a possible transformer explosion. Police then received several cars stating power is out in the area. Police notified RMLD, which responded immediately. (7:21am)
- Police notified DPW that a porta potty was knocked over in the area of the tennis courts at the North Intermediate School. (10:01am)
- Police removed a political sign in the area of Glen Road and Main Street as its location was in violation of the town bylaws. (10:30am)
- Lucci’s Supermarket reported business has been receiving several phone calls over the past few days making employees uncomfortable. (10:37am)
- Police restored peace between a lifeguard at the Town Beach and a unhappy group of beach guests. (4:52pm)
- Fire Department responded to a small brush fire at Market Basket on Main Street. (5:21pm)
- Police received reports of carnival signs in the roadway on Middlesex Avenue. Large pieces of the sign has been removed. DPW notified to remove small debris that remains (9:38pm)
- A Woburn Street caller reported political signs were taken from his front lawn. A neighbor observed the parties who removed the signs and provided their license plate to the police. (9:50pm)
- Police received reports of fireworks in the area of:
- Patches Pond Lane (9:15pm)
- Harvard Avenue (9:17pm)
- Birchwood Road (9:24pm)
- Alice Avenue (9:31pm)
- Dorothy Avenue (9:37pm)
- Arlene Avenue (9:37pm)
- Drury Lane (9:52pm)
- Glen Road (10:01pm)
- Congress Street (10:27pm)
