WILMINGTON, MA — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, July 2, 2016:
- A Vermont Drive caller reported small brown & white dog has been sleeping next to his house for the past week or so. Wilmington Police contacted Billerica and Tewksbury to see if they had any missing dogs matching the description. The Billerica Animal Control Officer was able to identify the dog and contacted the missing dog’s owner. (7:50am)
- Store owner of The Corner Store on Shawsheen Avenue reported a disruptive customer. Police Department responded and situation became calm. Police instructed store owner how to fill out a no trespass order. (7:52am)
- A firefighter reported approximately 10 people walking on the WHS football field, which was closed to the public due to the fireworks preparations. Detail officer cleared the field. (11:23am)
- The manager at Sonic reported a vehicle has been parked in their lot for the past few days. Police was able to contact a family member of the car’s owner, who agreed to move the car. (11:53am)
- A tractor trailor unit struck and dragged a steel barrier into the roadway on Industrial Way. Police contacted the driver. The barrier was moved so it was no longer a hazard. (12:11pm)
- A black 2015 Audi SE was involved in a crash with two motorcycles in front of the Z&S Gas Station on Main Street. Driver of the Audi was cited for unsafe lane change. (1:41pm)
- NO PROPERTY DAMAGE, PUBLIC INTOXICATION, FIGHTS, etc. at the Town Common area (or anywhere in town) before, during or after the carnival and fireworks.
