WILMINGTON, MA — Below are five things that happened at Monday’s Wilmington Board of Selectmen Meeting:

#1) The Board of Selectmen unanimously agreed to execute an easement agreement with Reading Municipal Light Department at the Yentile Farm Recreational Facility.  This easement was expected — two utility poles are being shifted for parking purposes.

#2) The Board of Selectmen took six votes to allow the town to move forward with the borrowing process for the purchase of fire pumper ($615,000) and to build the Yentile Farm Recreation Facility ($4.8 million), as has previously been voted upon by Annual Town Meeting voters.

#3) The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a request to have a neighborhood block party on a portion of Strout Avenue on Saturday, July 23, from noon to 10pm, with a rain date on Saturday, August 6.

#4) The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the sale of town-owned land located on Fifth Street, as voted at the 2016 Annual Town Meeting.  The land is just 1,275 sq. ft. and valued at $4,500.

#5) Under ‘Board Members Questions & Comments,’ Selectman Kevin Caira asked Town Manager Jeff Hull to see if DPW could clear the vines covering up the lacrosse scoreboard at the Woburn Street School Field. … Selectman Mike McCoy inquired about whether the signal timing changes at the Glen Road intersection has been finalized.  Hull believes the signals are basically set, but the Town, MassDOT and Green International will meet soon to discuss further and additional changes are always possible in the future. …  Several Selectmen noted they are looking forward to the Fun on the Fourth celebration.
