POLICE LOG for June 21: 2 Boys Allegedly Steal From CardSmart; Boy Brandishes BB Gun

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, June 21, 2016:

  • Fire Department responded to a car fire in the driveway at 92 Nichols Street. (12:28am)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Grove Avenue. (7:24am)
  • A caller reported striking a deer in the area of Woburn Street and Concord Street. A second caller reported a “dead” deer on her lawn.  When police arrived, deer got up and ran into the swamp behind the caller’s house.  Caller was advised to call police if deer returns. (12:25pm)
  • A Grove Avenue resident reported a red mongoose bike appears to have been hidden in her bushes. She doesn’t know for how long. Police ran the serial number with no hits. Police notified DPW to remove. (12:35pm)
  • Clerk at Card Smart in the Wilmington Plaza called to report two white teen boys stole some items from the store. 1 boy was wearing a black t-shirt and 1 boy was wearing a white t-shirt. Both had backpacks. Police responded. Store’s security video was not immediately available to view. Store wishes to file a trespass order if able to identify boys. A USB charger cable, valued at $20 or less, was taken. (2:23pm)
  • A dog was struck by a vehicle on Federal Street. Animal Control Officer took the dog to the Best Friends Animal Hospital. (2:26pm)
  • An individual flagged down a police officer on Clark Street. Officer told a juvenile was walking nearby with a possible airsoft rifle. Police spoke with the juvenile and located a BB gun. (3:57pm)
  • A lifeguard at Town Beach reported two individuals were riding their bikes around the lake from the Main Street side. Police advised the riders and sent them on their way. (4:11pm)
  • Michelle D. McGarry (49, Tyngsboro) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. (8:12pm)
