Wilmington’s United Tool & Machine Acquires Haverhill Tool Company

WILMINGTON, MA — United Tool & Machine – a Wilmington contract manufacturer specializing in sheet metal fabrication, metal stamping and wire electrical discharge, computer numeric control and manual machining – recently acquired HRI Precision Tool Company in Haverhill.

According to UTM, HRI’s record of technical capabilities in assembly, tooling manufacturing and CNC machining is an exciting and bolstered addition to UTM’s existing line of services. This acquisition allows UTM to build upon HRI’s successes while also augmenting its capabilities to meet the need for responsive contract machining suppliers.

UTM hopes the newly formed merger bodes well for the existing market and enables the merged company to attract new customers.

“HRI and United Tool have had a shared relationship over the past few years and a basis of trust that allows this deal to make perfect sense,” said UTM President Scott Fallavollita. “We see tremendous value in developing relationships with several of HRI’s key customers and the diversification it brings to our customer base. HRI is highly regarded as a company that invested a lot into the planning and engineering of a job upfront and did a lot of work beyond the scope of traditional CNC machine shop. We feel this work separates us from most other shops, and are extremely pleased to bring HRI into the UTM fold.”

In addition to the two companies merging, HRI President Harry Learned will join UTM as a Technical Sales Engineer and will be actively responding to requests for quotations, technical and design questions and other sales related opportunities, making the transition between companies and customer bases smooth, efficient and beneficial for all parties involved.
