POLICE LOG for June 11: Car vs. Rock Wall; Hit & Run; Theft From Backyard

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, June 11, 2016:

  • Police provided traffic assistance with the return of the 8th graders from their Washington DC Field Trip. (12:21am)
  • A white 2003 Chevy Malibu struck a rock wall at Glen Road and Harnden Street. No injuries. Vehicle was towed. (5:53am)
  • Police received complaints that a home having a yard sale on Glen Road was causing traffic to use just one lane of traffic in both directions.  Police responded and and advised vehicles to move and park on one side of the street.  Police also spoke with homeowner and advised them that future cars must park on that same side. (10:30am)
  • A green 2010 Honda Accord and a black 2011 BMW were involved in a crash on Main Street. Parties were transported to the hospital by the Wilmington Fire Department. Both vehicles were towed. A citation was issued to one of the drivers for following too closely. (10:43am)
  • A Lords Court caller reported items were stolen from her backyard last night. (12:36pm)
  • A walk-in party reported his blue 2011 Chevy Silverado was involved in a hit and run on 93 North.  His vehicle suffered damage to the passenger’s side. (2:31pm)
  • A Salem Street caller reported an injured rabbit in their yard. Police advised caller to contact Wilmington Wild Things. (8:21pm)
  • Police received a call that 3 people were in the woods off of Wakefield Avenue possibly doing drugs. Police checked the area and were unable to locate anyone. (9:57pm)
  • 5 juveniles from Milestone Group Home on High Street returned on their own after leaving the program without permission. (11:32pm)
